Blackberry JamIngredients:
~1kg of Blackberries
~ 1kg of white sugar
~ Juice of 1/2 lemon or Jam Setta
– Place the blackberries into a large pot, bring to a slow boil. At this point mash the fruit (or put through a sieve if you want seedless jam) and stir.
– Once all the blackberries are mashed up into a nice consistency continue to boil for 10 minutes whilst adding the lemon juice or jam setta, personally I like to use the lemon juice.
– Gradually add the sugar and stir until it has completely dissolved. Once all the sugar is dissolved allow the pot to boil rapidly for the next 10-15 minutes.
– After 10-15 minutes of intense boiling test the jam for setting. If you think you have reached the setting point, pour your jam mixture into sterilized jars and then seal.
-Once your jam jars are sealed keep them in a dark cool place and they can sit there for up to 12 months!
Now you have your own homemade blackberry jam!
