G’day everyone,
Lately I have been learning the craft of blacksmithing. I been wanting to try something new that was more ‘hands on’ and didn’t require any form of electrical device.
It has been amazing so far! I have managed to make a wall bracket for my hanging baskets. (Once I install it I will post a photo to show you all). The classes run for 3 hours every Saturday for four weeks. If you have been thinking about doing a blacksmithing class or course I highly recommend it! Just make sure you are prepared for a good arm workout.
After my class I took the opportunity to visit a garden center that I have been wanting to see for a long time. Kuranga Native Nursery is located at the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges and is by far one of the best Australian Native nurseries I have ever come across.
Kuranga Native Nursery is home to Australia’s largest range of Australian native plants. If you are wanting to create a native garden this is the place you need to go to. There are hundreds of different varieties of Eucalyptus trees to ground covers and many more to choose from.
Paperbark Cafe over looks the nursery and is surrounded by the natural bushland. As you sit down, relax and enjoy a great meal you can be tempted by all the plants that are displayed in front of you, awaiting for you to discover them.
The food is a combination of casual dining and comfort food at its best. Their seasonal menu is made from all local ingredients with a fun native bushfood twist.
If you find yourself travelling around this area of the woods, I would highly recommend checking out this nursery and make sure to sit down for a good meal.
