In this video I show you how to set up a mushroom growing kit. I also share a few tips and tricks to help your mushrooms germinate.
HOW TO SET UP YOUR MUSHROOM KITS:
Step one: Check to make sure the compost has a nice white frosting of mycelium. Open the bag of peat moss and spread evenly over the top of the mycelium.
Step 2: Use a fork and gently loosen the mycelium underneath the peat moss, until it is nice and fluffy.
Step 3: Mist the mushroom kit! You can mist either water your kit daily or every second day. But this will depend on where they are kept in the house, shed or greenhouse. Check them daily.
Step 4: Keep in a dark room! After about 10 days you should start to see mushrooms sprouting!

Thanks so much Mum & i had stopped purchasing mushroom kits as they weren’t producing now we know why, there was no white covering on opening our new kits, we will try again. Just one question do you cover them back up when you leave them to grow or do you leave the box open.
You welcome 🙂 I am glad you will give them another try as they are a lot of fun. Yep, keep the lid off and keep the compost/peat moist. 🙂
