Adventure awaits!
Today we woke up very, very early…5:30am to be exact! It was extremely cold, all the plants were frozen and ice covered the fields. We had planned to do the Mt. Yakedake hike early to make the most of the day as the hike would take a full day to complete.
The six of us agreed to get up early to go to the local store to get supplies before heading off to the climb… But, our luck wasn’t quite on track as we were informed that the shop opened early but unfortunately it didn’t actual open until 8am.
We decided to make a small detour to 平湯大滝 Hirayuootaki Waterfall which was a small pleasant walk through the forest.
Fallen leaves and running rivers…
After viewing the waterfall we stumbled across an old bridge a bit further down the beaten track….
We made our way back to the shop 8am on the dot and got our supplies. With food and water in hand we jumped into the car and made our way to the base of Mt. Yakedake.
Until next time, happy gardening! ©BMHPhotographyTheGardener’sNotebook2018
