BOTANICAL TOUCHES – MY WEDDING

In recent weeks I celebrated my wedding with family and friends. Looking back, it was a lot of fun to set up the reception space and create all the graphic art for the menus, invites, posters etc. The reception turned out even better than I could have ever imagined. It was challenging as I found myself having to imagine the space when creating all the decorations. In the end, I had my fingers crossed that everything would look nice once set up.

With over 50 candles to house, my talented father created all the candle holders, which gave a lovely touch to the setting. He also helped to build the seating chart, which I decorated with greenery from the farm. We used bush oranges and Schinus molle ‘Peppercorn Tree’.

For all the flowers, we wanted the bouquets to have a whimsical and wildflower appearance. We selected a colour scheme of peach, pinks, nudes and hot orange. To be truthful, we had no colour plan from the get-go, we just chose what we loved at the time. The talented team at The Willow Branch, located in Drouin, Victoria, took our ideas and created a floral art masterpiece. I have listed below what was used in all the flowers.

White Freesia
Daucus Queen Anne’s Lace
Thryptmene spp
Serruria florida Blushing Bride
Rosa Cappuccino Rose
Rosa Chiffon Rose
Rosa Christobel Rose
Rosa Summer Love Rose
Peach Ranunuculas
Hypericum x inodorum
Mixed nude shades of Lisianthus
Eryngium Sea Holly
Italian Ruskus
Eucalyptus spp.
Cineraria Dusty Miller.
Peony spp.

Until next time, happy gardening!
